"Pat Wictor plays "heart-felt blues-based roots music like the only begotten son of Bonnie Raitt and Chris Smither," ( Jim Motavalli of WPKN Bridgeport)
" Living Ever - Lovin' Live", a collection of live performances from 2009, is immers een fraai staaltje van beautiful ballads, foot - stomping blues, fine guitar playing and collaborations with outstanding musicians. De ietwat fysieke en muzikale gelijkenis met Hugh Moffatt zal wellicht niet alleen ondergetekende opvallen, de openingstrack "Kerrville Campfire Song", "I Don't Know What She Knows" - with Abbie Gardner (vocals, dobro - best known as one-third of the female harmony Americana trio Red Molly ) en gospeldeuntje "What Are They Doing in Heaven" zitten namelijk in hetzelfde sublieme 'Troubadour' straatje ..... Wanneer David Glazer het duo op "How Come We Don't Fight" , Robert Johnson's "Love is Vain", Carl Cacho's "Bordertown" en de traditional " Rollin' and Tumblin' " bijstaat op bottleneck slide en mandolin maakt Pat Wictor "Room For You en ....Mr. Blues ". Please ..... "Shake these Blues" !!! "....Pat Wictor walks onstage and sits down. He places a Guild DV-52 flat across his lap and begins playing slide guitar. The sounds are snaky and sizzling. He sings in a steady and clear voice, sometimes displaying a riveting falsetto. Soft-spoken and articulate, in the 1930's he could have been a dust bowl preacher. The sermons, accompanied by the choir of his slide guitar, would have brought comfort to many a soul...." --Richard Cuccaro, Acoustic Live. Pat Wictor: vocals, guitar, lap slide guitar
